During the summer of 2019, I worked as a communications planning intern at 22squared in Tampa, Florida. In addition to our day-to-day tasks, the interns were put in teams to work on a summer intern project.

The Pitch: Give rise to change in 8 weeks.

My intern team was presented with the above pitch and from there we brainstormed social causes we could support with a fully-fledged ad campaign with almost no budget and less than two months.

Introducing: Not That Kind of Assistant.

Our team wanted to address the issues with gender-biases in the tech world in regard to virtual assistants.

Over the course of 8 weeks we pitched our idea to our supervisors and launched a multi-channel campaign. Our campaign included social media, our website, and influencer marketing. 22squared Chief Creative Officer, Matt O’Rourke, championed our idea and connected us with team at an editing house in New York to help produce a video for our campaign. He also encouraged us to write up a press release that resulted in our campaign being featured in publications like AdWeek and The Drum.
